Board moderation

Most of you know that I don't like forum moderation. People ought to be able to share their thoughts freely on the Web, and sites that allow this are disappearing. IMDB and MSN have both recently removed people's ability to comment on their sites, for example. Other sites are forcing people to use their Facebook accounts to comment, which makes candor impossible for most people.

This site will not go down that road, but I also don't want to see it fall apart like we've seen at The Perch and BGN.

So, I want to encourage everyone to 1) moderate yourselves, since freedom brings responsibility and 2) let me know if there's anything posted here that you consider detrimental to the health of the board. I can't see myself banning anyone who's not an obvious spammer, but that doesn't mean we can't have rules about what goes where or that everything that gets posted has to stay posted.

I don't think we're very close to needing that sort of action, at least not yet, but if you disagree, let me know, whether in a comment or in a direct message.

I'm a little sick and tired or beers constant attacks on me thinking I am someone else. that is my only problem, so if you could get him to lay off that shit I'd appreciate it.

Have our broadcast journalism department (does it still exist?) produce some of the announcements & advertisements, so that every single ad / announcement during the football game doesn't come out of Jackson Walker's microphone. Break up the monotony.
