Holy shat.

Was that really the announced attendance? Holy shit!

Yep.

Per Wikipedia, the only home opener with lower attendance since 2000 was LaTech in 2011 (played in a tropical storm at 9pm).

Apathy has set in with the few remaining fans we have. the "don't give a shit" button has been pushed. the "Fuck It" lever has been pulled. 20K in a stadium that holds 38K. about half empty for opening day football vs an SEC team. Apathetic.

22k is the new normal. SEC culture in Mississippi + having a TTT moment anytime we have a chance to do something special (2017 Hattiesburg Regional is the most recent example). Might have 17k for most CUSA games.

We are a dying program.

Hop says both QBs had good plays. Cocks says that both played good and the QB race goes on. If we see KH again this year (or ever for that matter) at QB I may be finished with this. Get the young guy ready in case Griggs goes down and use KH only if the bottom falls out.

I was at the game. They have these things called smartphones, knowwhatumsayin'?

Like I said earlier, 22-23k for an SEC opponent (that played in a NYD bowl last year) is utterly pathetic. When Fedora was here 31-32k was the high bar. 25-27k will be the new high going forward.

My God.  He will start Keon against an inferior SWAC opponent next week that will make him look like a Heisman candidate and enable him to start the next game, against another inferior opponent.  Then, the TN game will look like this one with Keon starting.

Could be worse. James Madison is beating ECU 34-7 late in the 4th.

UAB had over 45,000 today vs AAMU. I never want to see our fans talking shit about them ever again.

Yep.
Turnovers & penalites killed us.  Those can be corrected.
I think we found a quarterback.

We found him but the question is did Hop? Was he hiding from Hop for the last month? Did Hop actually pay attention to practices? Keon playing that much the first half is inexcusable. Pure incompetence  in the mold of one Ellis Johnson.

This....enough about Hopson. He had to give Keon a full half to either work it out or not. Can't pull him after 2 or 3 series first game of the entire season and close the book on being a QB forever when the next guy is still dealing with a throwing hand injury. Team didn't quit which reflects the coaching and leadership of the head ball coach and staff. Dude gets paid 500K with a pathetic support staff budget and has his team playing hard regardless of the score. Defense looks great and the offense will gel and improve. This team will be tough to beat, even Tennessee will have a tough time in Knoxville. Hop is clearly the right guy for this team/broke ass university even if the attendance or fan boards don't support him. 17K in the stands and Hop is the problem......good lawd.....
