The 1984 championship and how things work today

Don't think BYU would have won it all if the system back then had been like what we have now. I think that's wrong. It makes the road to the championship a more boring one. Bama, Clemson, LSU... repeat.

An example: Tulane should have been national champion in 1998. Were they the best team in the nation from a size / talent / speed perspective? No. But that shouldn't be the criteria.
