Re: CUSA gives up only good bowl game

Shreveport could be an option for us. SEC might not be able to fill their spots (Ole Miss bowl ban) so CUSA is next in line. Would play ACC team. Playing Syracuse or Boston College in the Indy Bowl wouldn't be bad.

I figured there was some upside to it. Thanks.

Yep, "if" The Frisco Bowl ends up with a Memphis or Houston/USM matchup you will have a fight for tickets since the stadium only seats just over 20K which is about the actual turnout for most of our non New Orleans Bowl games. The stadium is great and will make for one of the better bowl experiences available in our conference against an opponent we have history with. They currently host the FCS Championship at Toyota Stadium and its always a great sold out game experience.

Re: CUSA gives up only good bowl game

If we do go bowling this year, I hope we don't go to NOLA again. Would be our 6th trip since 2004. I know they're trying to increase revenue and that's the only place we travel to, but I'd much rather play an AAC school (or P5 obviously) in St Pete, Boca, or Frisco.

I have to admit, when I saw "Frisco" I immediately thought San Francisco and was like, "who the FU#K came up with this stupid idea?"   Then I googled it.....I like.

Yeah, most of our fans would rather stay at home in Lake Serene or Bent Creek than go watch USM in a bowl game in SF. Gotta stay away from those pesky gays and Mexicans.

Not sure we will ever take that field again for a bowl game. They decided to select Wake over us back in 92 because they were still upset over our bowl decision a few years earlier. Maybe time heals old wounds.

Doesn't seem like much of a thing to get pissed about. Shreveport is a five hour drive from Hattiesburg. Birmingham is not.

Which part of hosting importance do you not understand?

At this point, I'm more hung up on "fielding importance." Baby steps.

Re: CUSA gives up only good bowl game

Jerry Palm has UTSA playing Northwestern in the HOD Bowl. He thinks the Big 12 may not fill their spots. So, there's still a shot.
