The conference will go belly-up soon enough and if anyone deserves not to pay one damn penny, it would be USM. I have zero faith that Flamingo Boy would agree, I'm sure he would pledge extra money we don't have because he doesn't have a GD clue amount shit!
I thought charter members would not have to pay. That would be USM and UAB.
]]>Look how many D1 schools were added after that.
Ace...
And try not to cry.
]]>The "Leadership" at Usm truly is atrocious im beginning to learn.
Wow Reg .. What tipped you off?
]]>I like the way basketball and baseball are done for the most part. There is an actual playoff. The only playoff in football is the one decided by sports writers...and most all of them suck huge dicks!
I liked the polls how they were done before about 1996. The media (many of them ex-players) and the coaches each elected a national champion. They weren't necessarily intended for the absolute best team, they were just two "national championship" awards, each of which recognized some special achievement at the I-A level.
The older approach is best exemplified by the BYU national championship. The newer approach is exemplified by Tulane going 12-0 and not even getting a first place vote.

The one who claimed harassment against the General for trying to make her produce?

Bump.

Had an interesting motel experience last weekend in Hattiesburg. I waited to book a room, and barely got one of the last sub-$200 hotel rooms in the city. I paid $63.
For my money, I got a lodging experience like no other. Their big sign was burned out; if I hadn't passed it on my way into town, I wouldn't have found it. We got no soap or shampoo. They did have ice and a common microwave.
There was a compact pickup truck in the parking lot with chickens in a coop in the bed. I shit you not.
At about 03:00 AM after the game, some crazy drunk, locked-out Southern fan was running around grabbing every door handle and yelling for his buddy.
At 07:00 AM, we got to overhear a man flirt with a strange woman about her car. People say it looks like a Mercedes. She tries to take good care of it. Various permutations of things about those two things were recited.
Our entire time there, we could hear a TV in an adjacent room. It must have been turned up to 40/40.
I just got a survey from these people LOL. Rate my experience LOL.
A lot of that was probably SWAC-related. Hotel proprietors are notoriously stingy when it's Bayou Classic week in New Orleans, for example.
The noisy TV / late night drunk parts just strike me as a natural side effect of people having a good time LOL.
]]>Maybe it's just my personality, but I think it's a good personality. When Jabba the Sysadmin over there at the site I killed started berating and banning people, did I take it? Did I acceded to his demands. HELL NO. I fucking left and ate that dude's lunch right in front of him.
It happens off the Web, too. About a month ago, my (now former) boss brought the whole team into a conference room and berated us, trying to hector us into coming in earlier and shit. I didn't take it. I went into his boss's office the next morning and offered my resignation and my frank opinion about who he was putting in charge of shit.
Did that make financial sense? Not on the surface at least. But it turned out well, in the end, as things do when you take control instead of just being along for the ride.
More to the point, G5-vs.-G5 bowl games are just mutual masturbation. Wouldn't have missed 90% of the bowls we've been to if we hadn't received a bid.
]]>Another similarity: if you talk to the UTEP folks, they'll tell you that NMSU fans are just as arrogant towards the rest of the G5 as we can (justifiably) be at times. Their thought process is apparently "El Paso = Mexicans, New Mexico = descendents of Spaniard Americans." There's a lot of hatred there.
