Instead we got SUNWACUSA
Who’da thunk such.

Btw. He was correct in the assumption that the aac was not the long term answer. He was much smarter than you think.
This is a good description of the actual thought process (which wasn't SUNWACUSA) and it was not always a bad idea. A lineup like like Houston, Memphis, USM, UAB, UCF, Tulsa, Tulane, and a few others might have made a lot of sense. All of the schools I mentioned are reasonably close, good at football, and have decent (i.e. non-MTSU) levels of real fan support.
Instead we get CUSA on steroids, with teams in Massachusetts playing teams in Texas. Ultimately I suspect every team we're talking about should be an independent, but Title IX makes that difficult.

I don't doubt any of that, but USM would have brought twice as many fans to New Orleans as MTSU will.
I like MTSU. For whatever reason, I tend to pull for them. But they're one of those schools that just doesn't seem to have a market for football. They've been consistently good and people just don't care.
Why invite them? Is it a TV thing maybe? I'm just so sick of the whole TV thing. Eventually maybe I'll get rid of it. I got cable for sports and they only showed 1 USM game all year.
A bowl would have been 2. That honestly makes a bowl- and cable- worthwhile. But, oh, we've got our precious gaddamned streaming and LA Tech!
Man, **** ***. You translate.
]]>MTSU? They can't even draw 10,000 people at home.
Or is this just a result of us not having an AD? Surely there was *someone* who could have handled this...

Magee is slightly more optimistic now that the Cure Bowl will feature an AAC team.
Bring Tim Doherty back.

Mr. Irrelevant. Makes Lanny look like Woodward and Bernstein rolled into one.
