The leverage would have to be Doc saying he can't recruit as a lame duck coach. The obvious response would be "you can't recruit anyway, at least not here."

Surprised so far. I have changed my mind and believe Doc gets one more year since we don’t need to pay two years of his remaining contract right now especially with us asking Hattiesburg to add a tax for more cash. Would be poor business due to timing right now. He will be back.
I was confused by the excitement of "rivalry day."
Not much doubt he'll return. The school and the media have been creating the underlying narrative for a few weeks now. At this point, the question is whether he'll get an extension.
