Sorry, but I'm here to challenge the auto-assumption that in this hyper-hypothetical scenario we would even accept such an invitation.
I've wondered about that, too. For instance, I've wondered whether the Interim Turkey Inspector rebuffed a bid, or at least an overture, from the Big East / AAC.

The American Athletic Conference commissioner said the league is, "'not targeting anybody," to replace UConn during his opening statement during AAC media days.
The Huskies plan to exit for the Big East at some point next year, leaving the American with 11 programs in football and men's and women's basketball (Navy is football-only, Wichita State is basketball-only).
"We have no plans at this point to add a member to replace UConn," Aresco said. "We're not targeting anyone."
Not that we would have a chance but they have been asleep the wheel before
And got burned.... staying at 11 makes no sense

]]>although it would never happen, i thought that there was some minimum seating requirement the big xii had for stadiums ( ~40K?)
and we did not meet that.... not to mention tv 'market' and all other bs reasons
That was one of the main things I was thinking about with my "invest" comment.
I can't help with the TV thing except to say that it's been pretty well discredited- now.
]]>There was a period of about 10 years during which USM had a lot of home game vs. the Big XII. Start with the A&M game (1998?) and then consider there were home games vs. OK State, Kansas, and Nebraska.
So, had USM made the necessary investments and decisions during that time, maybe we could have at least flirted with the possibility of the Big XII farting in our general direction, e.g. instead of TCU. But that's the opposite of what "wee" did so "wee" got the opposite result.

i have been to a few games at tcu and their stadium can't be more than ~45-50K

LOL .... that is correct. During one of the last re-alignments, there were rumors that we were being courted by the BIG XII.... lol

Yeah, use the blank ones and let kids color designs on them. Might as well scribble on their jersey's too.
