Strikes me as odd that someone would be a grad assistant for four years and never get a better opportunity. He probably felt compelled to do something.
He was a graduate assistant here for 4 years on the offensive side of the ball and in those 4 years all he has learned from the staff is how to use all timeouts on defensive side of the ball.... time to move on and gain experience elsewhere.

Hop doesn’t discriminate between coaches and players with talent......
]]>South Alabama: Source tells FootballScoop that Southern Miss offensive graduate assistant Austin Sharp has left for an offensive graduate assistant opportunity at South Alabama.
Does this strike anyone else as odd.......when a kid that has been at Southern Miss since 2016 takes the exact same job at a bottom Sun Belt program?
it is a move up to a better coaching staff / conference
]]>"With Matt Rhule set to take the Carolina Panthers job after one of the more impressive rebuilds in recent college football, one of the more attractive jobs in the Big 12 is now open.
For the past few weeks, the whisper in the profession has been that Baylor is likely to target Arkansas State’s Blake Anderson, Louisiana-Lafayette’s Billy Napier or former North Carolina head coach Larry Fedora if they go the external route. If they plan to promote from within, one would think Joey McGuire would be the guy.
The two other names we’ve heard mentioned as potential candidates are Seth Littrell and Hugh Freeze." -Football Scoop
Ms St is about to make a terrible, I mean terrible move if they go with their backup choice with Todd Grantham. He is a decent DC, but he is not a head coach. He will alienate everyone and be a big issue just like he was at UGA and Louisville. He is the Gregg Williams of the SEC.......
rumor mill stuff but if they promote from within, baylor goes with McGuire....
personal opinion, fedora would crawl over broken glass to get the baylor job having coached there before and being out of football for a while.... plus it is in tx, big 12 no defense, right up his alley
