I hereby submit my name for consideration as our new AD. I promise a chicken in every pot, a pickup in every driveway, and a case of Miller High Life in every fridge.
Riddle me this, and BELIEVE ME, this is just for fun.....
- UCF's announced enrollment in 2018 was 66,183. Southern Miss? 14,478. That's a 51,705 difference.
- UCF is located in greater Orlando, with a THREE COUNTY population of 2.44 million.
- The population of the ENTIRE state of Mississippi is 2.98 million.
UCF may put 40K butts in seats for a football game, but that is 26K less than their enrollment in a three county population area just about the size of the state of Mississippi. I'm not suggesting that each-and-every student must attend a football game, but considering their "advantages" listed here, shouldn't their attendance number be somewhere in the 80K-90K range?
"He and Dawson are just finding out what pieces they have to work with."
If it's the middle of September, after a full spring, summer, and pre-season, and our coaches are still figuring out who should be doing what, we've got much bigger problems.
Stick with Abraham, he is the future. Play Griggs or one of the others if Abraham is lost to injury.
Never been able to forgive Patrick Surtain for the '95 Bama game.
The disbelief and pain still resonates with me.
How is Vanderbilt, at 25-23, still included in the brackets? Are they expected to win their conference tournament?
With the 40 second post-kickoff rule in place, I foresee a few delay-of-game calls on us early on. We appear to be able to fiddle-fart around with the best of 'em getting on the field.
Well, this will probably lead to an NCAA investigation into recruiting infractions in Hattiesburg.....
.
Well, at least Freeze could feel safely immune from any future NCAA investigations in Tuscaloosa. The Golden Goose shall not be sacrificed.

I'm currently a #18 guy that's slowly evolving into a #20 guy.
I've progressed through this spectrum over the past three decades as a fan.
I was one of the more vocal dudes in the mid-90's, but those days are long gone.
....we beat Open Date by three touchdowns, unless we kill ourselves with penalties again.
It's all about money, of which we have very little. A proud and successful tradition is about all we can offer a conference, not the promise of bringing big bucks with us.
I've learned that some folks take things far too seriously, and sometimes those folks have way too much time on their hands.
I prefer my bacon dead. Live bacon is problematic and messy.
Discussing politics on this board....now THAT makes a lot of sense.
(1) Not another home game (whether in person or on TV) until a whole lot of issues get addressed.
- Disagree. It is what it is with us, and the folks that have been showing up for 30+ years (like myself) deserve to see the Eagles at home.
(2) Get out of C-USA.
- Disagree. Going independent would greatly diminish us. We need conference affiliation and the possibility of bowl games. We're poor, trying to stand alone would make us more so.
(3) Increase student fees.
- Disagree. Tuition is strangling a lot of families already, and enrollment isn't large enough to even make a dent in infrastructure issues.
(4) Finish the stadium expansion.
- Disagree. Crowd size is decreasing, but stadium seating is increasing makes no sense to me. Fill it up consistently, then grow it.
(5) Announce attendance correctly.
- Meh....don't care either way. Everybody knows that attendance is pitiful.
(6) Play more SWAC schools at home.
- Disagree. If increasing the number of Southern Miss fans in attendance is the goal, bringing in the next SWAC school won't get it done.
(7) Fix Reed Green Coliseum.
- Don't really disagree, but we're poor.
(8) Target your marketing better.
- Very much agree. Involve the marketing faculty and students in the new business building. Seek fresh ideas and perspectives. Couldn't hurt.
.....there's one dude on the bottom left, about to sip on a brew. Indications are he may be all right...
