Re: Wow, plenty of coaching jobs available.....and maybe more.

The Tee Martin play in question for Tennessee has Phillip Fulmer coming back as HC for two years with Tee as the O coordinator/coach in waiting. Safe play for a school that is screwed from a PR standpoint.

David Cutcliffe has also emerged as a potential hire, with Tee Martin potentially returning as offensive coordinator and Kevin Steele as defensive coordinator. There is real momentum among many boosters to install a "Tennessee guy" at top of program again:

I'm not sure Cutcliffe would take the job. He seems to be right at home at Duke and can maybe retire there.

It's a pretty conservative play from the Miss State perspective. But if you're Pruitt, your name will be on a lot of short lists for the next couple of seasons. Is this the leap you make?....to an SEC West team? He'll have better options.

State and Arkansas need to pick from either Norvell or Venables.

From Norvell's perspective, do you want to jump to an SEC West program? Maybe....but not before seeing what other options you have.

Mississippi State: Word in the coaching profession is that Jeremy Pruitt remains a strong candidate for the Mississippi State job, but sources tell FootballScoop Brent Venables has been asked to come in and interview. We’ve been told Bulldogs AD John Cohen, formerly Mississippi State’s baseball coach, intends to hire a “ball coach” as his new football coach. Pruitt and Venables are ball coaches.

Georgia Southern: New head coach Chad Lunsford’s salary will begin at $650,000 tweets Nathan Deen who covers GSU athletics.

What does that even mean? It sounds tatery. Is Ellis Johnson a "ball coach?"

Cohen is a dick that quit playing USM in midweek baseball games in Hattiesburg. He claimed that our fans were harassing the wife of one the assistant coaches at a game one year.

This assistant coach eventually took a job at Northwestern State as their head coach and scheduled a series at PTP in 2016.

The new coach at State has USM ties. His dad is M-Club HOF and he has a brother that played here as well. One of the first things he did at MSU was to schedule a weekend series home/home with USM. 2018 on 4th Street and 2019 in Oktibbeha County.

Re: Wow, plenty of coaching jobs available.....and maybe more.

According to a source close to the situation, Mississippi State had interest in meeting with Monken about the opening — which was created Sunday when Dan Mullen was named Florida’s football coach — but the former Southern Miss football coach is happy in Tampa. He did not interview with Bulldogs officials and all indications are talks between Monken and Mississippi State are off.

UNC to Moo U is not lateral.

It is a major step down.

Fed wouldn’t consider this unless feeling pressure at UNC.

State is nothing compared to UNC overall, as a school.

Fedora supposedly has a big buyout.

It's not like Fedora ha destroyed the ACC.

Fedora has a "Mississippi connection."

State has a lot of money.

Next time you should build interest into the bet. You did not specify interest, so 99beers' commitment to you is, unfortunately, an open-ended one. As long as he gives you a 12 pack of Bud Light before one of you "croaks," he's in compliance with the declaration of independence.
