It was out there for at least two days before he became the primary target. The only complaint about him being on the short list was the ego/perception that they could do better. As soon as it became a negotiation they realized better options didn’t exist and destroyed the guy.

Tennessee is their own worst enemy and the fans of that pathetic program deserve what they created.

The AD just released a statement to the Vol Nation saying basically Schiano has been cleared of any wrong doing at Penn State and that everyone they interviewed about his character said he is a solid individual......then he finished his statement with saying he looks forward to introducing the next coach soon.....

Basically, FU Vols, he was the right guy and you were wrong.....

What do you mean, they couldn't do better?  You really think that guy is / was the best option Tenn has out of every other human on earth ?   Im pretty sure there are better coaches that would take the job.  Heck,  it prob pays close to $4 million.

What do you mean, they couldn't do better?  You really think that guy is / was the best option Tenn has out of every other human on earth ?   Im pretty sure there are better coaches that would take the job.  Heck,  it prob pays close to $4 million.

If that’s the case, why take Dooley and Butch Jones? Look at their current short list. Rocky Top is slightly above the MS schools in appeal and Arkansas is about to get one of the better remaining options. Tennessee and South Carolina are middle of the SEC programs.
