typical chip head mistake.  he's reinventing the wheel because he thinks that he can make a rounder one.  coding your own BBS is the biggest waste of time since ryan leaf.

I think one of the problems (and there seemed to be several) was that he changed his IP address. When you do that, all of the DNS servers all over the world have to catch up. They will keep sending people who type your URL to your old IP for a while. There's a lot of caching and whatnot that becomes a problem.

I wonder what his rationale for doing that was.

if he wasn't using third world DNS servers, it wouldn't have taken 48 hours for the DNS change to propagate.    literally stupid.  he spends time and money on shit that is, well, not essential, and then cuts corners on shit that matters.

he also has a search engine/cache issue that requires 'whatever it is' in mySQL that basically renders the site unusable between the hrs of 4 - 4:30 a.m.......

I only know this b/c I rarely sleep and use that time to catch up on current events.....it's another curse that now 'reigns' upon ze skull cap.....

just fyi if that would possibly affect how your's  functions....

He's actually referring to a site that some Memphis people that he ran off set up. It didn't quite take off like this site, but I did think it was funny that he'd been through this before.

He basically got away with it with Memphis, so maybe he thought he could get away with it with USM. Think again, Jeremy.

I'll post a link later. Also, I've requested an ID at that little Memphis site.

It's not. Like GTS said, the board he's complaining about is private, and he has a mole there. I'm trying to get registered there myself, so that I can spread the word about this board (and specifically the new Memphis forum I'm trying to get going).
