Re: Our Athletic Director

Gilbert helped get new video boards installed in Reed Green Coliseum. He was also AD for the 2017 Independence Bowl, which was very well-attended by USM fans.

Other than that, USM's attendance has been an embarrassment during Gilbert's tenure. His whole "revenue was up for the Kentucky football game" thing was pathetic. The stadium should have been full for that game.

Gilbert is another fucking ass clown.  Bennett should go next, based on his two AD hires alone.

Re: Our Athletic Director

He writes emails about nothing and fancy titles he has for things and assigns tasks about nothingness to existing staffers.  And then emails it all to EC members in hopes of bullshitting his way to IDK, nothingness.  It's the most bizarre and puzzling thing I've ever seen.

When was the last time you went to a game? I can at least somewhat respect people that don’t like Gilbert but give to EC and attend games.

As for Gilbert, he hasn’t totally lost me. His articles about Tom Cruise and whatever are certainly bizarre, but he hasn’t had a major screw-up quite yet.

- signed a deal with Adidas that will pay us more than Hammond’s Russell deal
- got us football scheduling deals with MSU and Tulane (series that the fans wanted to see)
- worked a deal with Farm Bureau to sponsor the opening series with State (not sure how much $$ we will see from this but it will give us at least somewhat of a boost)
- didn’t extend Sadler’s contract
- added two video boards to RGC which enhances the gameday experience there

I do wish he would give us some of his long-term plans/goals so that we could hold him accountable. But that hasn’t really happened at USM under any leader.

If basketball fails to win 7 conference games, that could be his first big test. He’d have a decision on whether or not to fire Sadler (largely dependent on if he gets the buyout money or not) and then there’d be a ensuing search.

What year are you in? So as a student, you give to the Dugout Club?  That's impressive.  What made you join and how rare are you?

Stang, you would be surprised at how many students are Dugout Club members. Big increase in the past year or so among people on campus. They’re making students buy tickets for the State series because they are expecting a very high demand for tickets for that weekend. Most games you just scan your ID.

People love a winner.

Good. I don't call people out for being mere observers, but I will praise the people who do more, especially students.

I wasn't an every game fan as a student, but I did what I could. I was a coop student, so I only went to USM every other semester, and worked full time the other semesters. Fall 1997 was a work semester, so I had to buy season tickets for football just like anyone else. That wasn't easy to fit into my very small budget, but I made it work.

I probably regretted it at the end of the Spring semester, when my coop money pile ran out and I had to do dirty deeds behind O'Charley's to make rent, but you win some and you lose some.

Why would you fuck with a student like that?  He is at a level just below hero.  Since you brought it up, what is your giving level?

Treasonous bullshit. No cookie is too large for me. I once ate an entire cookie cake all by myself at a Ron Paul event.
