Good lawd FAU

Just keeps punching the Gators in the mouth today. Won game 1 and up 2-0 T1 bases loaded for FAU with the Gators pitcher already up to 35 pitches in the first half inning.....

Re: Good lawd FAU

I feel like the NCAA baseball tournament exposes teams with a lack of pitching depth. You can half-ass the regular season, starting middling pitchers on weekdays and on Sundays, but it gets very difficult for teams without a lot of good arms to maintain things in the postseason. There are too many talented hitters to face in rapid succession.

It's the oldest hacked-up baseball adage out there: good pitching beats good hitting. The other side of the coin is that shitty pitching can't make up for good hitting, or even great hitting. That's exactly why a team with NCAA-leading batting and one good pitcher gets bombed out of the losers' bracket by Fort Worth College of Christ.

Plenty of T-shirt / banner material was made, though. "11-time CUSA regular season champs" / "Some guy won a Super Bowl for a team in Wisconsin."

One elite pitcher and a bunch of wannabes won’t get you very far for sure.

I saw cable guy state on another board that he “knows” Berry has one more year to do something more in a regional. Bower was what, three years removed from a conf title before we wanted more? So much coaching talent out there, combined with the La Techs and FAUs getting better. I would love to see USM become Redemption U and start hiring all those morally failed souls like Freeze in Football and Cannizzaro in baseball.
