Football is going to change

Something at some point is going to have to change in football. Autopsy for the Washington State qb that took his life earlier this year showed he had CTE and his brain degenerated to that of a 65 year old man......and he was only 21. The guy was primarily a backup until seeing more play time in 2017. The family can almost pinpoint the damage to a single game when he was never the same after(Arizona). To hear your kid has the brain of a retired man at 21 is devistating.

I know it’s a big business but so was tobacco before smoking got squeezed in the court of public opinion.

Re: Football is going to change

I'm watching an old DVD of the Saints @ the Eagles, week 2 of 2009, and it sure seems like football has changed a lot already. That was just 8 years ago as of last season, but the way the players use their bodies and their helmets in particular seems different from what you see now.

The problem......size and speed. Since 2009 both have increased and will continue to improve. The faster they go the harder they hit, legal or not. When your backup to the backup gets CTE something is off.....

it's a different version of the wild west.....some die young and are willing to commit to the risk....

I watched lil bubba drive a guy 10 yds from the sideline into the fence......he didn't remember the rest of the game....that was it for him as far as my parents were concerned.....yeah, concussion....

he lives up there in lil beers land.....still solid as a rock....

It seems that only white players are getting this degenerative disease. Do black people have harder heads?

Blacks are not completely immune to CTE. Dave Duerson, Andre Waters, Jovan Belcher...

But the percentages are way off. Roughly 70 percent of NFL players are black and about 48 percent in FBS. Yet the vast majority diagnosed with cte are white. Is this another bell curve?

There are certain genes that are associated with denser bones. We don't all have identical skeletons. We do all have to play the hand God dealt us, good cards and bad.

Amazing. Matches the JSU - Hattiesburg campus actual enrollment.

Go sit on the fountain by Danforth one sunny day and observe. Or believe the #s Flamingo's puppets spout off and get back to us.

Might end up being the other way around.......Apparently they have identified the financial funding for this new all inclusive facility for football and basketball.....Carrier Dome of the South.....
