UTSA score prediction thread

Not a very intimidating opponent on paper but they've won 3 or their last 4. They've already faced 3 P5 opponents as well as LA Tech, with no wins in those games. They'll be making the long trip to Hattiesburg, which doesn't help. Hopson is an up-and-down type of coach, and it's been mostly down lately.

It all adds up to USM 38 - UTSA 20.

Parker misses 2 field goals
19K is the announced attendance
People call for Dawson to be fired
Waffle House won’t serve Hop
BDR says something about SUNWACUSA

Been meaning to ask you about that. Was that article really about USM, and is the guy who wrote it our new USM beat writer? When did they print that shit?

In fairness to Young Master Cleveland, the people who write the articles aren't always the people who write the headlines. Still...

I remember seeing a USM sticker on a car way back in the 1980s when we were vacationing in Biloxi, and asking my dad if that was the team that was coming off the death penalty. His response was something like, "No, that's Southern Miss up the road in Hattiesburg. They're actually pretty good, but no one will go to their games."

Re: UTSA score prediction thread

They beat Rice by 17. We beat Rice by 18. Factoring in our single-point home field advantage, comparative scores call for a two point victory.

Vegas is usually not crazy, but assigning this one a 17 point line just seems reckless to me. Neither of these teams has shown any evidence of being good. USM played Auburn somewhat close, but that's a weak signal. Auburn has major problems.

I think he wrote it on Monday and it wasn’t his mistake.

Didn't know we were covered in the CL anymore. Anyway TC couldn't have made that mistake. His paw is a USM alum., and pretty sure he is too, and a sports writer before him, one of the best. Another sports guy in the Jackson market in the our former days of significance that is more than worthy of note was WLBT TV's Michael Rubenstein, RIP. He always enthusiastically gave us full credit and respect, never diminished or slanted against us.

20-9 Wilson wins

Not only is he a better recruiter than Hop, he shows in our house that while lousy, he's not as lousy as Hop & Co.
