Redemption U Part Deaux

If you hire Art Briles can we just make him the head ball coach? I mean bringing him in as the OC seems like a step down although I can respect the fact that he is coaching somewhere in Moscow right now.....

Re: Redemption U Part Deaux

Wow. That would be quite a surprise. I suspect Briles would slice through CUSA defenses with ease.

Re: Redemption U Part Deaux

Its both surprising and calculated at the same time. CBS/Dennis Dodd wrote an article a few days back discussing he will be largely exonerated within the next year, a claim coming from former Baylor AD and now Liberty AD Ian McCaw. Timing isn't a coincidence.....

One would think this information was "given" to Patty McGeek by USM in order to leak and fly a test balloon on public opinion. Patty doesn't actually work for any leads in general and giving it to him gives it to the important media outlets to see who will run with it and what will be the response. Not many large outlets have picked it up so thats a positive if we move forward.

In order for Briles to actually be in Hattiesburg also indicates that this interview process has been ongoing before todays campus visit and would also indicate that an offer is probably prepared today assuming his meetings with Bennett, Hop and Mitchell are positive.

If he accepts, now you have to look to see who he will bring on for his staff. Part of the deal will be accepting our new OL coach from Alcorn but who will he bring in for other positions? Wouldn't be completely surprised to see the name June Jones come up since they are good friends and he is available now since he left his Canada job about 45 days ago.
