Re: La Tech

I'm still trying to learn the reasoning for the suspensions......I haven't been able to crack the story so until then here are a few unrelated thoughts from the La Tech fan forums regarding the legalization of marijuana in college athletics....

So the NCAA rule should be changed to "smoking weed is an allowed illegal substance" - PawDog

There is absolutely nothing about weed that should be illegal. It just smells bad. - Tech52

Surely, some marijuana wouldn’t demand a 2 game suspension. Has to be more there. -Techman05

They didn't grow up with Save by the Bell to know drugs are bad -qng001

Weed should have been made a non-issue years ago. - Tech52

Yall know I've often advocated for legalization -Champ967

I don't get it. It's not habit forming like a gateway drug. - PawDog

It’s Tim Rattay’s fault. -glm47

Re: La Tech

Alabama has not generally suspended players just for smoking dope.

Georgia does suspend players for smoking dope.

Didn’t Damien Smith get suspended for something like that back in the day?

Re: La Tech

update from the La Tech boards.....

go burn a 10 foot blunt for all I care -Champ967

Yeah, I don't get it. It's not habit forming like a gateway drug -Pawdog

we had players popping positive all the time. - Techman05

if you go home and beat up on your wife, rob a store, or use drugs is it your boss fault? -Texasdawg8

The way the rule is written makes this seem like a University decision and not a NCAA requirement. - LyleK

we are putting ourselves at a competitive disadvantage over MARIJUANA then all I can do is throw my hands up. Kids smoke weed, it's a reality. -LyleK

The RULES say to play NCAA Football is clean pee. No matter your personal, religious, or political feelings, thems beez the rules -DocMarvin

Here at the Parish it's one strike any your gone if you pop positive for drugs, stay away from the Parish - Dwayne

UAB had a hand in it too. I mean, come on, they are the Blazers. That just screams involvement with weed. -TechFreak

Of course pot is "habit-forming." People who smoked it yesterday are more likely to smoke it today. People who have smoked it every day for 20 years are likelier still. If something feels good you're going to want to do more of it. DUH.

People have a God-given right to smoke it, though. Again... DUH.

No, that's not a rule.

My God Tech fans are stupid. They should go back to posting "things that are red" or something.
