Even if you feel good for the players, you've got to question why Hopson has so many scholarships to give to walk-ons.

Apparently we're under the # of scholarships, because we had a bunch of JUCO guys graduate last year that Monken signed in a desperate attempt to get the program to be halfway worth a shit again.

So is there basically no way Hopson could avoid this? I guess you can only sign a certain number of people each year, and if you sign a bunch of people who have only two years of eligibility left, the annual signings won't be enough to keep you at the maximum scholarship number. I don't know the exact numbers, but if that's what's happening, then Hopson earns point for fighting through it. Winning with walk-ons > winning with juco transfers.
