It must have been less than $2M. The article indicates that I wrote this on Twitter. I wonder if USM had the goods on CUSA since Bill McCLellan was pretty much involved in the creation. USM was also the last remaining all sports member. UAB did not have football until later. It made me wonder if USM got off much cheaper than Marshall and ODU. If it did, the others may push for the same deal.

May have been a charter member deal with a carve out. The schools that joined later probably signed a different deal. They can get over it.

Figure Judy loses this one.

"Winning is relative."
"Did you ever consider that the next level would be a lower one?"
"Conference play."
"Stop, drop and roll doesn't work in hell."

Rodney and Jeremy spent the money upfront on legal opinion, strategy, and positioning. By the time we told Judy we were gone, everything after that was a foregone conclusion. Rodney was key in getting this done. When Jeremy asked for money, Rodney already had it lined up. I am very impressed…this entire process was very well played by our administration.
I, for one, think we are going to miss Rodney very much. I shudder to think who our inept college board will shove up our ass this next time.
