Why do we play at UTSA in consecutive years?

I thought being in a conference was about trading home games. What possible justification could there be for making us travel to San Antonio two years in a row?

Just one more example of CUSA screwing what ought to be one of its top programs, right alongside that "no USM" clause they negotiated with the Liberty Bowel.

We also played at UTSA in 2014. Seems like just about every year we're out there losing in their crappy dome.

I honestly can't think of a reason we should ever play west of Houston.

Well, I think I'd try to get a game with NMSU, Army, or UMass.

The larger point: I say "fuck UAB" because of what they did. First they drop their program, causing trouble for the rest of us. This was almost 3 years ago now, and we're still trucking out to San Antonio just about every damned year, apparently because of UAB's stupid little tantrum.

Then they bring back their program. They get a new stadium. They get a year of recruits and a year of practices without even having to play games.

C-USA has been way too tolerant of those dirtbags. What they did 100% warranted exile to the Sun Belt. They're far from irreplaceable. Surprised you'd disagree.

I'm with Bear Jr. on the topic of UAB football. The natural thing for a school with "University of Alabama" in its name is to pull for Bama and hope for an annual game in your city.

That's exactly the deal that Birmingham got, for many decades, and it was a good thing. That annual game was quite often a (technically) neutral-site game vs. USM. Then the city decided to let their stadium rot, along with the area around it, and in trade they got the "UAB Blazers." We lost our Birmingham date with Bama. I have no sympathy for UAB.

And I think you're falling into a trap that a lot of USM get caught up in: the urge to root for any giant-killer in the Southeast when they play, or otherwise go up against, an SEC team. Those teams do nothing but erode our own brand with their foolishness.

nope....was simply pointing out the facts.....

I've pointed out too many times how D1 growing from 100 to 130 has hurt our ability to recruit.....

it's tiring when I have to repeat the obvious.....
