New NCAA Football Coaching Salaries Released

*Hop comes in around 117 out of 130 coaches. The last 9 on the list are not disclosed because they are private institutions but its a given they are all ahead of Hop based on the school....

*Hop is dead last in CUSA salaries

* Hop would rank in the bottom half of salaries in the Sun Belt

*Hop would be ranked in the middle of MAC salaries

*Hop would be ranked second to last in the MWC only ahead of Nevada(currently 1-7 record) in salaries

*UMASS, Independent with 1 win, is just behind Hop at $472K

Couple of surprises on the salary front...

* ULL is paying their coach $1.15 million....which is at $383K per victory so far this season....
* Tulsa is paying $1.4 million......which is at $700K per win so far this season.....
* UTSA leads CUSA salaries at $1.13.....
* SMU is paying the most in the AAC, just north of $2 million....
*ECU is paying over $1 million for that dumpster fire.....
* Highest MAC salary is Western Michigan at $800K
* Second highest Sun Belt salary is Troy at $800K
* Three schools in the MWC are tied for the highest salary at $1.5 million, Boise, CSU and Fresno.....

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t his contract heavily incentive based?

Hopson is doing an OK job so far... but quality people get the money up front.

If I recall the incentive benchmarks Hopson will easily get $700k +/- ..  not great for a D1 coach but shit load to general public

There is also the state employees' pension to consider. Hop's got a big chunk of the requisite 20 years already.

What some falil to realize is that with 25 years of state service you receive 50 percent of your highest averaged salary at retirement.  So, not a bad deal...........

And at 28, I think you get 60%.  And its based on your "high 4" average.
