We sell 4,000...university comps several couple hundred. Total in attendance 23k. USM fans will say the crowd is "at least half" Southern Miss. USM will say it is hard to determine actual number of tickets sold to USM fans because of secondary markets, walk-ups, etc, but we believe the number to be in excess of 10,000.

FWIW, I suspect the leprechaun hunt was engineered by some pretty brilliant parents who wanted those kids to stop doing whatever it was they were doing before / after the leprechaun hunt. Fucking with the local TV station is an added bonus.

FSU beating ULM 42-10 now. USM beat them by 11, so if you play the comparative scores game, it looks bad. I think USM has improved since then, but not dramatically.

Not the same. Today’s game was in Tallahassee and they wanted to win for their interm coach and get bowl eligible. ULM had zero to play for compared to our game which was their home opener.
FSU should have their new coach in place by the bowl game but will probably still have Haggins coach them. Line will probably be FSU 10.5. We are playing better and will be more hyped to be there compared to FSU.

From an FSU board...

I was told before kickoff that TaxSlayer is still in play, but not the lock it was once thought to be. Independence Bowl and another third bowl are also in play.

Some of that is due to CFB Playoff rankings and auto-bid issues at play, so today's games could adjust it.

Just don't go booking your hotel in Jacksonville quite yet.
