Posting images and video on the site

I get questions about how to do these things, so I'm going to take a few minutes to post my attempt to help.

I'll start with the easiest scenario, which is posting a video from YouTube or a similar site. These are desktop/laptop instructions, but the mobile version of the site is fundamentally similar.

Begin by going to YouTube and finding your video. Then, click "Share" and then "Copy". Steps 1 and 2 are highlighted below.

That will put the address of the video onto your clipboard. Go back to the window where you're making your post. Put your cursor where you want the video to go, then right click and click "Paste":

Finish the text of your post, click the "Submit" button, and the video will be handled properly.

Re: Posting images and video on the site

Here is Part 2, which is about posting images you see on other websites.

First, find the image you want to post somewhere on the Web. Find the actual location of the image, not the Google link. That will require you to actually click into the site, not just look at it on Google.

Once you've done that, right-click on the image and select "Copy Image Location" (or similar, depending on your browser):

Next, return to the window where you're posting your message on CollegeSportsUnfiltered.com. Position your cursor where you want the image to go in your post. Click the icon in the post edit tool that looks like a Polaroid picture in a tree... it's #14 from the left:

You'll be prompted for an image location. Right click in the image location text box, select "Paste," then select "OK":

After that, just complete the rest of your message and then click "Submit."

Re: Posting images and video on the site

Part 3: uploading images to the site for display.

This option is useful when you have an image stored on your computer or phone, but it doesn't exist anywhere on the public Internet yet.

Step 1: Type your post, and then when you're at the place where you want the image, click the "Uploads" link:

A "File Manager" dialog will open. Click "Browse":

Your operating system will show its default dialog for picking a file. After you pick it, its name will show up in the "File Manager" dialog. Click "Upload" to send it on up to the site server:

There will be a brief pause while the file uploads. The "File Manager" window will show a message while this happens. Once this is complete, you'll need to scroll down in the "File Manager" window until you see images. The one you just uploaded will be at the top. It will have a little icon in its bottom right corner that you will need to click:

34.png

Clicking that icon will insert the image into your post at the place where you left your cursor when you clicked "Uploads" in the post editor. If you close out the "File Manager" dialog (use the X icon at the top right corner- you don't want to just leave it open and switch windows), you'll see the automatically-generated code that makes the image show up:

Just finish up your post and press "Submit" and you'll be all set.
