last one for the day......

the bold link thingy is now gone Hyde.....

e.g.  before the bold links still appeared after reading....

now, the bold links that haven't been read are appearing as being read......

as always, just fyi.....

edit: I've noticed it after one/two reads or closing browser then reentering....maybe it's a timer issue.....dunno.....

Haven't changed that part of the code recently. One thing I can tell you: posts are tracked as "read" by specific users. If you read something while not logged in, it doesn't count as "read" for your user and the thread will show as bold when you log in.

I haven't logged out since that change was made.....I also haven't viewed via mobile....

let me focus on that part and give you better feedback.....one item, I don't think I visited this page over a 24 hr period.....let me do some experimenting....

I'll let ya know....

how big of a deal would it be to create a link that gives one next to (user name, likes, then link) that would enable a pop up (or in a new tab) a menu of all posts made by said user over 'x' days....1 day, 1 week, 1 month.....don't really care what the count would be....

I've added something similar to what you described. In that general area of the page you were talking about, there has always been text reading "Posts: " followed by the user's post count. This is now a link that opens a list of all the user's posts in a new window, with the most recent posts at the top.

Re: Site suggestions and feedback

here's my next one.....

how big of a deal is it to take "index" requiring a click, to a "drop down hover"? (I'm certain I butchered the proper terminology....)

Are you talking about this link (circled)?

Re: Site suggestions and feedback

Site seems more responsive to me actually viewing posts v. a timeline and continuing to say posts are 'new' and they really aren't.

May be a fix, may be that I'm busy.

Either way, thanks for your efforts.

yessir.....IMO, it's easier to hover over a link, then mouse down to a pop out and click vs. click then click on another reloaded page.....one less step....

forgive me if my lingo isn't up to spec.....I'm nothing but a user at this point..... ;(

I understood you. One thing to keep in mind: clicking on the big "College Sports Unfiltered" link at the top of the page is the same as clicking "Index."

I knew that.....was specifically referencing the "hover" option.....

I've bookmarked it......so it really doesn't matter to me per se.....was offering another suggestion(s) for other users that may only use their laptop....mobile prolly doesn't matter.....

again, just food for thought.....you developed something that is outside of my scope with the mobile crew.....I'm as dumb as a sack in their camp.....

edit: cue bdr or slackjaw.....BEERs is a given to drop the hammer wink

Definitely not a function of where I have been. Never been to firearms board. First visit showed new posts in 2 of the 4 threads.

Off and on fast today on this board and I’m scrolling through posts I’ve already read to get to new.

The way I interpret things, you should see all 4 threads as unread there, right?

I should have but didn’t. Only 2 of the 4 had ‘new posts’.  When I clicked on ‘new posts ‘ for the thread I was taken to recent posts not the beginning which would be unread posts.
