Fighting Docs get a nice win

89-71 over Troy (NCAA Tourney team from last year). Maybe the best game we've played since Tyndall was here.

Congrats to Doc and team.  To early for RPI to matter but low 300’s tells a story. Possibly Doc can make a run to .500 for the season. Unfortunately I have doubts

Saw some people on another site posting RPI change threads and I thought the same thing. But hey... it's college basketball. If you want to be a nerd about it, be a nerd about it.

We're a legit big man away from being pretty good. Magee and Griffin are both legit guards.

Just one senior on this team and he isn't a significant contributor. We had a chance at landing a good JUCO PF (Bruce Stevens) this offseason but he went to OM. If we can get a quality from a JUCO big man or D1 transfer that is immediately eligible, we could contend next year in conference play.

RPI is bogus, and like you said it's too early anyways. I look at the KenPom ratings which takes into account offensive/defensive efficiency, tempo, pace, etc. We're #272 after today's W (jumped ~30 spots). That's obviously not great, but at least we're not sub-300 like we were in 2015, 2016, and 2017.

IMO, this team has a chance to be middle of the pack in CUSA. MTSU is the class of the conference again, it appears. They beat Vanderbilt on the road this week then followed it up yesterday with an absolute thrashing of Ole Miss in Murfreesboro. ODU, LaTech, WKU, and UAB are top 100-ish teams and are behind MTSU. After that, it's anyone's guess. We could finish as high as 6th and low as 12th. If we shoot like we did today, not many teams are going to beat us in conference play.

in a nutshell.....that's spot-on....

we're going to live and die from the perimeter this year....

today was a big win in the confidence category.....

no doubt magee and griff are legit.....

They should also make up a fictitious ZIP code about the team. Something like "DocWinsVille."

Good for Doc and the team. I would love for them to turn it around and become a competitive team. Doc was certainly given a stinking mess when he came.
