For some reason I despise that song.

Perhaps from massive overplay during heyday.

A lot of Rock music has reached its saturation point for me. Every time I hear Z.Z. Top or Zepellin or whatever, I have to remind myself that there are people who have never even heard the song yet.

There's a funny urban legend about the origin and release of that Phil Collins song. The funny part is that anyone would believe it. Supposedly Phil saw a man drowning. He was too far away for Phil to help, but there was a third man who was close enough to help but didn't. Then Phil saw this third man at one of his concerts and called him out and played the song.

Yeah, shit like that totally happens LMAO.

Yeah I heard that one back in the day. Said he set up a ‘contest ‘ , had the guy win and sit in front row, then sang that song to him.

Hadn't heard the contest part. The story just gets more outlandish with each telling.

Had some dumbass in my 12th grade physics class tell that story once. I seem to remember the teacher quickly calling him out on his bullshit.

Luckily, this guy didn't end up going to USM.

Re: Song of the Day 12/22

I saw Phil Collins play drums for Robert Plant on September 18, 1983 in Biloxi...there was no opening act. Robert Plant doesn't fucking need one.  It was one of the most amazing shows I've seen and I've seen some bad ass mother fuckers in my day.

Some Luther... he's singing in the greatest choir of them all now, alongside Whitney... and Oderus Urungus.
