Bahamas Bowl

UAB fans are sporting a t shirt with “#130”. It’s motivation because they where ranked 130 in the preseason. Unfortunately, they are playing like 130 thus far. 13-0 in the first quarter.

We should print up some #330 ones for hoops.

Getting boat raced by Ohio U.: #JustCUSAThings.

At least Giannini is there to witness the fruits of his chicanery.

Re: Bahamas Bowl

Ohio has a good coach. Always seem to finish with a winning season. Been to 8 bowl games over last 10 seasons. Somehow lost to Akron and Buffalo at the end of the season. They look like a complete team so far today. UAB looks like #130. What a horrible home loss that was for us.

Ohio U. is a good school, as is Miami U., but it makes me sad that the MAC has surpassed CUSA in so many ways.

Re: Bahamas Bowl

Bill Clark did a solid job with UAB this season. I remember when Jimbo was, "hired" by UAB from LSU until the Bears son said no go. Cant help but wonder where UAB football would be today had that played out.......

name three.  real ones.  I hear this noise constantly, but I never see people with reasons.  it's just generalized foot stomping.  I'll even give you this bowl game as #1.  now you've only got two ways the mac has surpassed cusa.

not saying they aren't out there, they quite likely are.  I just want to see them.

Well, the MAC has been ahead of CUSA in the Sagarin ratings (among others) for the last couple seasons, maybe longer.

They've put teams in the Orange and Cotton Bowls within the last five years.

They're on real TV a lot more. Granted, they've made some sacrifices to get that, but they'll also reap some benefits.

The MAC football teams have been in the top division much longer than the current CUSA lineup has.

And this doesn't really qualify as "surpassing" CUSA, since it's probably always been true, but the MAC is just a more cohesive league. The schools know each other, are relatively close geographically, and the league as a whole just sort of feels more comfortable in its own skin than CUSA does.

There are still some areas where CUSA has an advantage. CUSA still spends more on average, I think. No MAC team has been in as many bowl games as USM has.
