George Payne will be back......hopefully in a big way....

Good point. I've added him.

Picasso Nelson is in the same situation, I think. Added him.

He'll have to beat a returning starter out if he wants to get into the starting lineup. It could happen. I remember him causing a lot of big plays when he was playing.

Re: 2018 football: projecting the roster

Southern Miss has fewer players returning than any other FBS team, according to SBNation (https://www.sbnation.com/college-footba … experience).

Hopson will face 2018 with no Ito Smith, no Korey Robertson, and no Allenzae Staggers. I haven't seen any CUSA predictions yet, but it seems like things could get downright ugly for Hop after two up-and-down seasons.

Re: 2018 football: projecting the roster

With Korey Robertson now officially gone, who starts at WR? Quez Watkins is a young receiver who played a bit last year. DeMichael Harris is a junior college signee who has good speed. Hopefully they both catch a lot of balls in 2018.

Re: 2018 football: projecting the roster

Ito was very special.  Otherwise, we'll be OK I believe.  Improvement on both lines will dictate how well we do overall.  The D will be stout and the O serviceable.
