Re: Anybody eaten @ Dickies BBQ?

I have. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. You can taste the smoke in the meat. I've only had their chicken.

The way the chicken is cooked is a bit of a compromise. If you're like me, and want the chicken to look like it was at Hiroshima, then no restaurant's chicken is going to seem properly cooked. Dicky's does a better job than most places actually cooking the chicken, though.

The corollary is that, if you're one of those people who actually likes moist chicken that still has an intense chicken flavor, you may find Dicky's chicken dry.

Re: Anybody eaten @ Dickies BBQ?

Picked up a couple of pulled pork sandwiches. Pork was was piled high and the bun was good but the sauce was like fucking water. The spicy sweet sauce is good but too thin. I like the station where you can dress your sand with pickes and onions and other condiments too. I give it 3.5 stars. They have to fix the thickness of the bbq sauces.

Their sauce is thin. I like the way it moistens the bread, though.

Which wich in Nashville.  You pick up a lunch sack and crayon and check off what kind of sandwich you want on the sack.  Lots and lots of options in how to dress your order.  Clip it on the order rack, and the cooks move the order down the line.  Kind of a pretty cool concept.......and the food was pretty good and fresh.

I like to go to Olive Garden and tell the staff "I'd like all the salad and breadsticks I'd like, please."

I took a date to the Olive Garden in Biloxi once. She was mad that they didn't have spaghetti. I tried telling her they just used a fancier name for it, but she wasn't having it.

There are at least two on the Coast and both are good for a chain.  There's one in Petal as well out on 42 that I have visited when headed to my hunting camp.  The brisket and pork are pretty decent as are the sides.  Never had the sammiches tho.

Re: Anybody eaten @ Dickies BBQ?

Dickies is pretty good chain restaurant BBQ.  I usually get the chopped brisket sammich and cheesy spinach on the side.  Firehouse is a pretty good sub shop but Which wich is my favorite, a little pricy for a sandwich shop but really good.

You think Olive Garden is Italian fast food, avoid Fazolis at all costs if any are still open.

Was that the place across Hardy Street from Rose's, The Crescent City Grill, etc.? I ate there once. I was not impressed. Come to think of it, I'm not sure where you'd get good Italian food in Hattiesburg. Maybe someone can clue me in.

Had a Whataburger not long ago for the first time. It's exactly like a Sonic burger. I mean exactly. Speaking of Sonic they have 50 cent corndogs today.
