Expect The CUSA Baseball Tournament in Frisco, TX

Back when they announced the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments at The Star in Frisco, TX, I mentioned the possibility of the CUSA Baseball Tournament ending up in Frisco as well across the street from The Star Complex at Dr Pepper Ballpark, regardless of UNT not having an active baseball program. Today I received an email as a season ticket holder for The minor league baseball team that owns the stadium that CUSA and The Roughriders (AA Baseball affiliate of The Rangers) have a new partnership.
Each year The Roughriders host one of the top college baseball tournaments in the country. Last weekend, La Tech got to play Texas AM, Baylor and Cal at the Frisco Classic tournament. Next year MS State, Texas Tech, Nebraska and Sam Houston St have committed to the 2019 Frisco Classic tournament. I imagine this new partnership will open the door for our new post season tournament once the Biloxi deal is done. It’s a great ballpark and worth the trip if it plays out.

If they're going to hold the tourney at a truly neutral site, I'd think somewhere like Pensacola or Orlando would make as much sense as anywhere. Do it somewhere that tempts people to turn the trip into a vacation.

The city of Frisco will be the new home of CUSA once the current lease expires in Irving. Don’t they already host football media days now in Frisco as well?
From what I saw on TV The Pensacola Stadium seemed legit. The Braves are building a new stadium near Sarasota so maybe Disney has some open dates once they leave....

Biloxi definitely fits the bill. I was thinking about what CUSA would do if they decided to change things up, though.
