Texas Longhorns

People are acting all surprised that they lost to Maryland. Their fans got all butthurt and threw rocks and garbage all over the field Saturday, indignant that their beloved Longhorns could ever lose to the Baltimore Turtles.

I saw it coming a mile away, though. The bottom line is, if you play football in a poor conference, you will play poor football, eventually. Can't roll around in the gutter without getting dirty.

Compared to Maryland, Texas plays in a poor conference. The Big XII, while head and shoulders above C-DOA, is no Big Ten. My mom's side of the family are Nebraska Cornhuskers, and they yearned for an exit to the Big Ten for decades. You could bait my granddad with questions like "is Nebraska part of the Midwest?" Grandma would just roll her eyes, like, "here we go again..."
