Re: CUSA Athlete of the Year

Bias towards the "old CUSA" schools is completely reasonable. USM, Marshall, Rice, and UTEP have actual sports histories. Those schools used to be in a better conference, for example.

Who is Motor?

After multiple Web searches, I have determined that Motor's a junior running back from FAU named Devin Singletary.

His stats are good; 1,700+ yards rushing last year, with an eye-opening 29 touchdowns.

The difference between Singletary and Nick Sandlin is that while "Motor" was piling up yardage against Bethune-Cookman and Buffalo, Nick was on a team that did compete among the top teams in its sport.

Nick opened up the season by pitching a strong victory over a team that would go to the CWS. "Motor" opened the 2017 football season with a 26 yard performance in a 42-19 loss to Navy and followed that up with a 60 yard performance in a blowout loss to Wisconsin.

Thinking "Motor" should have won CUSA athlete of the year just shows the flawed thought process of most of CUSA. They've forgotten any of us were (or are) nationally relevant in any sport, and instead fixate on crap like Valium Bowls, stat-padding, and meaningless conference titles.

"Motor" played that game by the rules, flopping for Navy and the P5 and then going ape shit on WKU. Nice to see it didn't earn him a cookie this time around at least.

Re: CUSA Athlete of the Year

We just signed this Dickerson kid today out of west Jones. Plays SS and pitches and can swing a bat pretty good. I know his father a little. Played for the Yankees and is the Orioles 3rd base coach. Good genes in there.

Looks like they've got Sandlin penciled in as a closer maybe? He has yet to give up a run in 5 single-inning appearances, the last two at the A level.

I think so......and also believe it's the right move

as much as I would love to see him in the Maddux Jr. role, having a Rivera Jr. is equally solid......

what's most impressive, they go 'either/or'.....

that motherfk'r is gonna shine long term barring injury.....that ol' boy is special....
