T’Rod Daniels Quits

Lots of internal drama surrounding this program......

Well, he basically rode the pine mistress while the other RBs were getting 60 yards per game against JSU and ULM. Personally I'd be Strangeloving the middle finger myself at that point.

Re: T’Rod Daniels Quits

This is how college football is going to be going forward. WKU literally had a running back quit today and he sent out a goodbye/thanks tweet almost identical to T’Rods.....Hop finding out yesterday he was quitting shows that Trod wasn’t pleased with his lack of reps in practice so he picked up his ball and went home.

No loss for the Eagles

Re: T’Rod Daniels Quits

How do we have so many just pack up and quit?  Is this a trend in all of D1 ball?  When recruiting, do we not look for character flaws such as this?

The ethos of football is that you do what you can for the team, even if you have to sacrifice your own ambitions. That said, this guy was looking at wasting his last year of eligibility playing on a spot basis for a pretty clueless group of coaches. He was gracious about his exit and I'm not sure this is really a character flaw. Not every grenade is worth falling on.

Re: T’Rod Daniels Quits

This is true ^^^

Maybe he realized he was out of his league and decided to move on.  I was thinking mostly of the multiple OL that we lost and Keon.

The new redshirt rules now play into this new culture. One to watch is Jalen Hurts. He has one more game left to play at Bama without burning his redshirt and then has to decide if he is going to quit and play as a 5th year graduate transfer next season for another program.

I also believe this is a direct reflection of who we are as a society today. Easier to quit and try and get my way somewhere else than learn from a challenge. If what is being said about Griggs is factual here is a kid that could have thrown in the towel but took the opportunity of his suspension to workout on his own, watch film on how to improve and is giving his all to his team to correct his mistake and better himself. That’s the example to follow......not Keons or T’Rods. Opportunity is always one snap away......

There's some truth to that, but it's not all about people being weak as individuals. It's also easier nowadays for the group to throw away the individual and move on to someone else. So when individual people experience difficulty, they try to get in front of that wave and get the fuck out of town instead of being swept away by it. I've been there.

Re: T’Rod Daniels Quits

I hear you. It definitely swings both ways as I have been there as well unfortunately......

My point.....“Kids” today don’t have a work ethic like past generations. They don’t flip burgers in high school or mow lawns for their parents......they don’t bag groceries or work retail shops. They don’t learn at an early age how to earn something or honor a commitment .....it’s just handed to them because in their mind they deserve it. Lots of excuses as to why but at the end of the day when one is faced with adversity if they haven’t had to tough it out before they hit the age of 20 they are in big trouble.

I grew up in the last generation that flipped burgers, played outside, and got concussions that were ignored. I count it as a privilege.

The pendulum will swing back. The good parts of back then will be combined with the good parts of now, resulting in something better than either... I hope and pray.

Per Patty Magee George Payne has a torn ACL and is officially done for the year.

He has had a hip injury that has prevented him from being on the field forever.  Not sure they would have/could have put him out there with it at all with it.

Good luck to him in the future.
