Monken could also wind up with the Falcons. That would be nice

No

They're foisted on me 16 Sundays per year. It would be nice seeing Monken.

I already have to root against Ito every game.

There was an article about Wallner going to the Cubs.

I’d hate to have to root against him for 20 years, but I would.

His most recent boss is getting a look from the Falcons. Supposedly their QB coach (Greg Knapp) was OC in waiting, but maybe after last year they want a completely fresh start.

Oh... so Koetter gets bumped down to OC and Monken gets his shot at the top job. Interesting if it turns out that way.

Which of those would you take if offered all 3?

The easy answer is Packers, but I actually would go Jets.

Very good young QB to develop.  Decent supporting cast.

Aaron Rodgers is getting older but more importantly he apparently is very difficult to deal with.

There was a book or a magazine article or something that came out a few years ago, and it detailed some of the early interactions between Aaron and Brett Favre. Aaron came off as a real prick, a guy who thinks he's doing the rest of us a favor by breathing the same atmosphere as we do.

At the time I kind of dismissed it as just one side of the story. Since then, though, a lot of other shit has corroborated that story.

FWIW I also think Mike McCarthy falls far short of being a football genius. Haven't watched the Packers much, but his playbook when he was OC of the Saints always infuriated me. It was like he was running the West Coast offense but ran out of gas in a shitty town in New Mexico.

Re: Monken

Rodgers is a diva. His family doesn’t even like him. No to Packers.

Look at conference and take the Jets. Most upside based on competition. New England is aging out and Jets can win in that division. Wouldn’t want to play the Steelers or Browns or Ravens D 6 times a year.

Well.....that’s one way to tank. He got a lot of press after he beat the Dallas Cowgirls on MNF earlier in the season but does this mean you take over the Packers?

Nope

Monken got his first head coaching experience at Southern Miss, where he coached three seasons turning around a previously winless program. He left SMU to become the Bucs' offensive coordinator in 2016, a role he's been in for the last three seasons.

Re: Monken

Kingsbury just hired by the AZ Cardinals. Fired by TTU and hired by the NFL.....ok.

Takes him out of the Jets equation. Shocked Monken isn’t even an option in Atlanta. Why hire Koetter again when Monken was the successful piece in Tampa and coached Ito in college. Dumb.....

You know, after the job he did resuscitating USM post-Butterpappy, he might be just the man for the job.

There's a lot going on there. Baker Mayfield is an easy guy to root for, after what he went through with Coach Massengill (a.k.a. Kliff Kingsbury). I do think the Browns made a mistake not keeping Gregg Williams, but it won't surprise me if Monken and Mayfield do some good things.

Re: Monken

Think discouraging for Monken.

Per football scoop
Cleveland Browns: Freddie Kitchens shared today that he plans to continue to call offensive plays as head coach.
