OT-The Power 6.......

SMU v Houston playing a decent game tonight. 21-13 Pony Express at the half. Do you remember 95-21 win by Houston in 1988 covering the 60 point spread the first year following the death penalty? The Cooogs had over 1000 yards that evening.

Would prefer SMU get the New Years spot over a Boise or SDSU or Memphis. At least SMU has some history, illegal or not.....

LOL yeah, I remember pretty much every UH game from back then. Remember them absolutely boat-racing LA Tech a couple of times, too.

Them chickens definitely came home to roost, though, as all chickens do if you're not one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the SEC, ACC, or Big Ten.

73-3 over La Tech. Forgot about that. Hard to believe they went from playing conference games against Texas and Texas AM in 1995 to playing conference games against Tulane and Cincinnati the next season........what a beat down.

That would have been '89.
'87 & '88 were the years SMU was prohibited from fielding a team.
