Southern Miss Signing Day

Does it matter? You can look at all the talent in the world and how they are ranked but until you can actually develop, utilize and actually maintain said talent for an entire season, or heaven forbid multiple seasons, does it really matter? A couple of ranked receivers have inked us that look good on paper but who gets to throw to them? Will Hop keep them in the kitchen cupboard and not use them until 2021 because he gave his word to a couple of other kids first?

From what I gather we are signing true titans of academia. They must’ve heard about the Bower Academic Center.

Re: Southern Miss Signing Day

Quez needs to teach a introduction class for all recruits called bare minimum, the study of the smallest possible quantity or the least fulfilling, but still adequate effort suitable for football qualification.......because that is a skill and some elite timing on how to maintain your eligibility just enough to make it before they send you to another school to take classes in order to return to play the game or make it through a season......almost....

It’s like getting some nice, legit home theater equipment for Christmas but we don’t have the right cables needed to make the damn thing work.......

The best we can get is an occasional 720p performance with a 480i resolution coach in a 4K world.........

What’s Jaylond Adams situation, Hop?

Hop:
Right now he’s just injured and he won’t be in the bowl game.

Why dance around this?

Re: Southern Miss Signing Day

The juco system around the south and Mississippi especially is too good to ignore. However, this once again proves Hopson’s sanctimonious “right way” crap is a big pile of crap. Is there anything he’s been straight forward and truthful about since coming here?

I agree to fill certain needs but when you sign 10-15 jucos then graduate 35 in two years ( when you can only sign 25)...... the math does not work.

It won't be his problem, he won't be here in two years.

Hop said yesterday that he doesn't subscribe to the "only recruiting withihn 200 miles of campus" theory. He said he will even go to Alaska in order to get the best players available. Let me tell you the last thing someone that lacks focus and execution needs to do Hop.....having such a wide net to recruit in will get you nothing back of substance minus a cool fishing trip or two in Wisconsin or the pacific NW. Well, if you are just going to stock JC players as a hail mary and make the next coach build from nothing in one year once you are fired then that says all we need to know about you as a developer and recruiter. Oh yes, he's one of us......

Everyone watching this knows what he is doing including our AD. How embarrassing is it, Hop, to be asked yesterday the status on Jaylond at 11AM, tell the media he is just injured, only to have the injured player make a fool of you two hours later on social media by saying he is looking for a new home? You think you are doing someone a favor by keeping it out of the media for the last part of the season....meanwhile the actual players that are still part of this team and the few remaining supporters this program has have to listen to you BS us because you don't feel we are worthy of being in the know. Let me know how thats working out for you......
