Re: Good Start

Schedule seems a little strange to me... no series vs. Ole Miss or State, just weeknight games?

Re: Good Start

Still undefeated on fake dirt.......we hit six UNO batters last night. We had two guys pitch their first few innings in college. Overall it was a long, ugly game but a win is a win. Central Arky coming in this weekend.

Larry Boyd's son, Drew hit 3....

regardless, it's good to see him throwing again....he's a hoss that needs innings under his belt...IIRC, he had tommy john surgery last year...

Re: Good Start

My hunch: sometimes that Tommy John surgery helps velocity but not control. That's why you don't see many NFL QBs having it. The ones that do have it (Delhomme is the example that pops to mind) lose accuracy.

It's easier for a pitcher to shrug off a base on balls or a hit batsman than it is for a QB to shrug off an interception. Delhomme looked damn good after his surgery, until he didn't... and when he didn't, it was really just one bad playoff game vs. Arizona that destroyed him.

Again, though- you look for this phenomenon with pitchers but it is FAR from a career-killer.
