Not an important game.

That if they ever go looking for their heart's desire again, they won't look any further than their own backyard. Because if it isn't there, they never really lost it to begin with! Is that right?"

Re: What will we learn today?

Love the toppers talking about Berry's overall record against Ole Miss.......what our budget is compared to theirs, etc.....

But hey, we competed and thats all that ever matters.

And how good our pitcher was who gave up the 2-run homer to lose the game. Somebody told him to STFU.  smile

Re: What will we learn today?

Southern Miss athletics lacks any effort beyond the status quo to achieve exceptional success. Just competing is the best we can do and thats deemed acceptable by the Toppers.

Its our self owned complacency that has consistently derailed great opportunity in multiple athletic programs over the years like softball, baseball, football and coming soon,  track and field.

Its not a budget thing. Its not ticket sales. Its not the rise of other programs. Those are lazy assessments that lack any thought. It starts with vision and leadership. If Central Michigan can make the Cotton Bowl, then its not a budget issue. If Coastal Carolina can win a world series, then its not ticket sales. If Illinois Chicago can make it to the final four then its not the rise of other regional programs.

You have a leadership struggle at the top. You have complacency in the Presidents office. You have complacency with Jeremy McClain. You have complacency with Jay Hopson and Scott Berry. When you have your basketball coach, who has now lost twice to the bottom team in the conference, tweet out a picture of the easiest places to coach from being an arm chair or the stands I'm sorry but he has to go and should be fired. He is the biggest bag of excuses and to have the balls to tweet out anything when you lose two games to a bottom 300 index program you have a leadership problem.
