I like Nick. I think he is gone from SF. Not sure who will run with him as a project going forward but his NFL career path is very similar to Austin’s at this point. His # of starts gets him on a roster in 2021.

Nick won't be playing next year. T J surgery is a 14 month recovery, down from the 18 months it used to be.

It's also far less of a no-brainer for a QB than it is for a pitcher. Jake Delhomme is the only QB I can think of who had it. Afterwards, his arm looked strong but somewhat scattershot. A baseball pitcher can survive a couple of way-high pitches better than a QB, I guess, viz. that awful playoff game Delhomme had vs. the Cardinals. That was at the end of his first post-surgery season and I don't think he ever recovered from that game.
