Coach Prime and JSU

With the  city of Jackson seeing an economic boom of $30 million and attendance averaging 42,000 when will the “leaders” of USM take note? The lack of foresight and understanding of what successful athletic programs can do to a local economy and a university is bordering on malfeasance. We are past needing new leadership at the top at USM.

Impressive what prime time has done in just over one year. JSU crowds exceed Ole Miss, MSU and even the Egg Bowl. He will not be at JSU next fall. Not sure where he goes but he and his son will leave shortly for the next opportunity. Could be GA Tech.

Re: Coach Prime and JSU

680 the fan in Atlanta now discussing Prime Time as the next coach of GA Tech. They don’t see a downside to bringing him in to replace dead man walking Geoff Collins. They believe Tech needs to take a chance just from the marketing opportunity alone Deion brings with his attention and recruiting success. He knows Atlanta, the culture, etc…..

Re: Coach Prime and JSU

Collins really flopped. I guess you had to have a guy to undo the triple option and absorb the resultant shitstorm... kind of the Gorbachev of the triple option.

The radio in Atlanta stated today that the celebration bowl, Jackson State vs South Carolina state is a sellout ( 71,000 )

I get there are corp sponsors that buy tickets but can that be true?.... 71,000 ?

I've given some thought to how this JSU-Deion thing has taken off. It confused me for a long time. There are so many football teams and so many ex-pros... why did this combination resonate with people? Why not Doug Flutie and Texas Pan American, or Warren Moon and Miami (OH)?

I remember when Deion was taking a helicopter between Braves games and Falcon games. Maybe that was his water-into-wine moment, and there's a sort of gospel around him that gets spread among jock sniffers everywhere and forms the basis of a sort of church.

I remember a few years before his helicopter rides when Pascual Perez missed his pitching start for the Braves when he circled 285 3 times and ran out of gas trying to find Fulton county stadium. Maybe he could take over GA State Football since he knows the Atlanta culture………although wasn’t he killed in the Dominican Republic?      Scratch that idea…..#wrongwayperez
