What really happened to DeAndre Brown?

He was our only 5 star recruit and had such a promising career.

Was the horrific injury to severe to recover from??, was it his attitude?, both?

The two season after his injury he was never the same. He made himself look like a idiot by declaring for th draft his senior season and not even getting drafted.

Top 5 talent all time in Fb. Serious developmental problems in leg bones. Bad advice from hanger ons. Bad rep from jealous people. Predictable me first mentality. Sad ending after legendary start.

When I think of great USM pass receivers, I think of Sherrod Gideon, Todd Pinkston (for about a season and a half), and Shawn Nelson. DeAndre Brown did have one great season and another pretty decent one, but neither one was during a particular memorable season for the USM team as a whole.

Memory is a weird thing, though; we had a guy named Kenny Johnson who I remembered as a pretty good WR, but if you check his stats, the TD he caught to beat TCU in Mobile was his only score at USM.

Pink can thank Gideon for his second round draft selection. Coming off his junior year, teams focused so much on Sherrod it opened up Todd for a big season.
