Re: Some of the best concerts you ever attended

Saw Europe in 87.....yes, they opened and closed the show with The Final Countdown. Saw a few super groups in my day like Bad English (Journey, The Baby’s) and Damn Yankees (Ted Nugent, Night Ranger and Styx)....

Seen some surprising opening acts like....
Skid Row opening for Jovi on the Jersey Tour in 89
Living Colour opening for the Stones that same year.
Extreme opening for David Lee Roth was decent.
Muse opening for U2 in 09

Gary Wright is a guy I sort of rediscovered a few years ago. Dreamweaver isn't even his best song,.

Black Oak Arkansas rented a house off Magnolia St for a while in Long Beach during the late 60s...everyone hung out/partied with them every night.  Where did you see them?

KISS Alive '76 was at the very top of their game.  Where was it, Atlanta?

Black Oak Arkansas, like Dylan, was at USM/the yurt.
Kiss was in the auditorium next to the coliseum in Mobile. Like standing behind an F15 with afterburners engaged.
Stones at Madison Square Garden/NY with the Pretenders. No slack.

Rode my Schwinn Stingray to that Black Oak Arkansas concert. Hid our bikes in the bushes and climbed over the chain-link fence. The floor was packed with dancing long-haired hippie types and there was a peculiar smell in the air.

I was at that show. Ian Asterbury & the Cult were pissed off, b/c GnR totatlly destroyed the stage after their set, leaving splinters & rubble BEFORE the Cult came on to headline. Great show.

Re: Some of the best concerts you ever attended

Johhny Cash, HOB NOLA '93 or '94...

Neville Brothers at Tipitina's...numerous occasions, always great.

Steve Earle, Variety Playhouse Theatre, Atlanta '96 (one of only 3 shows he played in support of the Train a'Comin' album)

Peter Case - Blues Alley, Hattiesburg '97. He played 3+ hours..solo, accoustic. You could hear a beverage napkin hit the floor.

Timbuk 3, Graham Parker, Pete Droge, The Jayhawks...HoB NOLA '95. First act came on at 9pm. I'm not sure when the Jayhawks stopped playing, b/c I threw in the towel at about 4am.

Prince & the Revolution 1984, Mid-South Coliseum, Memphis. Purple Rain Tour

The Police 1985, Mid-South Coliseum; Synchronicity Tour

The Replacements, 1991 Tipitina's; All Shook Down tour. I would've have loved to see them around 1986.

Too many more great shows to name.

Re: Some of the best concerts you ever attended

I saw Rush in San Antonio in 2002. They started right on time, and we were still buying drinks. We didn't realize it wasn't a recording until we walked into our section and saw them playing.

all the early one's we hit the floor immediately......the '84 VH I almost got crushed.....
