Re: Ask the AD, circa 2001

Apparently there was a possibility that the Nebraska game was going to be moved to Jackson? That's hilarious.

Re: Ask the AD, circa 2001

We were still giving a male cheerleader a mic in 2001? I thought we cut that out around 1997.

How many of these people that asked questions are still fans or even alive? I say 25%.

Re: Ask the AD, circa 2001

WHAT IS THE TRUTH?!?!?!?1111

Q. In the debate between USM, MSU and Ole Miss about playing the Golden Eagles, it is always who is afraid of who. It is rumored both ole Miss and MSU have propsoed contracts to play USM in football and we refused. What is the truth? Where can one go to find such information?

A. Any offers to contract a football game would come through the director of athletics office. I have been athletics director at Southern Miss since June 1, 1999 and I have received no oral or written offers from State or Ole Miss to play a football game. As you know our philosophy is the Golden Eagles will play anyone, anywhere and at anytime. Southern Miss football is afraid of no one and I think our schedule has proven that in the past and in the future. You may want to get an official statement from the other institutions.

We hope the renovation of Reed Green Coliseum will become a reality within the next five years.

Right there. With the first premise, the whole question is stupid. "Who is afraid" has nothing to do with it.
