Re: 1981 Tangerine Bowl

I've been an Eagle fan since the Favre era, but the first bowl game I actually made it to was 2000 in Mobile. And it was fucking freezing. Great football game, though.

Re: 1981 Tangerine Bowl

im still much more pissed about the TTT loss to Louisville that year when we were 8-0-1 and ranked in the top 10 at the time, with the tie being against #7 Bama.  hell, win that UL game and we would have been in the sugar bowl, orange bowl or cotton bowl.  thats the game im forever most pissed about.  even more so than the 2011 UAB game.

We returned the favor in 1990 when we were their only loss. It's a shame we don't play them every year anymore, along with Houston and ECU. Those were all really good series.

yeah, no doubt.  but was a little diff.  we were ranked #8 when we lost to them (with one easy game left in the season) and they were unranked when we beat them.  we had beaten or tied 3 ranked schools.  they hadn't played anyone ranked or really worth a damn.  im sure they are still pissed nonetheless.

yeah we miss playing those schools.   one reason ive been screaming for years to go Indy.

I was there probably the coldest I have been at a game.

Seems like a lot of the Disney rides were closed due to ice.

Loserville loss that year was the first of many TTT games we have lost

Re: 1981 Tangerine Bowl

I didn’t know Southern Miss even existed yet...... All I cared about in 1981 was Star Wars and the possibility of seeing some boobies.....

In retrospect not much has changed regarding my priorities over the past 36 years.....

Nah, Lucas fucked it all up. Turns out he's an idiot who just got lucky with the first two films.
