True....but they also were consulted on Gilby before agreeing to pay him 350K per year. Those conversations could have only gone one of two ways....

A) Fix this
2) Have you met Jeff yet?

Re: The rest of the season

Can anyone find Hop's buyout? Can't find a number on what happens if we fire him.

Gee, thanks McGillis. Guess we're stuck with another 6 win season in 2018.

Re: The rest of the season

Who negotiates these shit contracts anyway? Idiots I say...establishment idiots!  Look down that list that was provided above...Fedora $15 million...Orgeron $8.7 million...Lovie Smith $16.5 million.  What the hell???  These ADs are auditioning for US Congress or something with shit spending habits like this.

These ADs really are dumbasses. Who does LSU think is going to hire Oregeron away? The Saints?

Come on, Ace.......it’s a joke. Bower has about as much say in Hattiesburg these days as he does in Roswell today........he might actually have more influence fixing the traffic on hwy 92 than what we should do with this program.....

Point being Gilbert can only respect the past where he is, he didn’t write it and he’s not looking for anyone that has the pen that wrote it. He spent his first 7 months meeting with those that may still care and already asked th question you referenced. I doubt anyone said put the car in neutral so we can save on gas......

Not this.....

I don't know if they're "the money people," but there will be plenty of people who will try and frame our 2017 football season as a success. The only possible result that wouldn't get spun that way is 5-7, and while I don't put that past the team, I don't foresee it.

If you want to see anything change, maybe you hope for 5-7. Personally I still hope Griggs gets to play and we win 3 or 4 more games. But I'd take 5-7 over 6-7 with a bowl loss. The spin they'd put on 6-7 with a bowl loss would be nauseaTTTing.

I've seen you say that before...JB has more influence than you think.  He's a large donor and was on the Board of Directors of the Athletic Foundation up until last year. Hell, he may still be on it.  Those are the guys that control things.

I'm not blaming him but wondering out loud, how much does he have to do with Hop being here?

$1,041,667 as of 12/17.....

If you open in a separate tab, the CBS 1-130 ranking of teams and line it up side-by-side with the USA Coaches Salaries, it's amazing how close they are, with a few exceptions. I don't know if you get what you pay for, or maybe you pay for what you get.

We're actually getting more than we paid for if you look at it like that, although I don't trust Hopson against bottom-third teams.

If the car dealers, doctors, the oil guys are on it, they control it and I am not thinking there is a lot of love lost between those cats and JB. With that, I dunno much anymore so I will just be quiet.

Who knows on Coach Hop?
