templefan1 sets the bar high:

"If AAC can get $6M to $10M(high end dream) range per team, id consider that a "win" with the current media climate."

I believe he has one too many zeros in his 'high end' dream.

It will be interesting to see. TV contract 2 basically the last thing people who try to call the AAC a mistake can point to.

I think dude is on H if he honestly believes they are going to get more per game than presently.  This shit is trending downward unless you are a couple of P5ers.

Gonna need Preparation H after those TV negotiations if the people I'm talking to are right.

it's sad what has happened to those guys.  that conference is a big personality cult dedicated to mike aresco.  he's going to bring kool aide to media day one of these days, and we're going to find our former conference brethren tits up in the gutter.

Aresco and Karl Edwards from the Sun Belt both strike me as masters of bullshit. That said, I'd take either one over Judy McLeod.

in ridiculing aresco, I was in no way praising what's-her-face.

St. Mike of TV has had the brilliance to create an athletic conference based almost exclusively on TV revenue in the dawn of a digital age.  his zombies have not yet noticed that the emperor has no clothes.

Re: AAC and Big East fans on the AAC's television contract negotiations

More hubris:

" The American Athletic Conference will be getting a big Raise on their next TV Deal and should put them around 10 to 12MM Per team...Still Far less than the other P5's but puts them at a solid P6 and seperates from the other G4's....Also Since Espm Owns the AAC they will tell them who to take from BYU and the MWC to assure the AAC Remains a Solid P6....Thus Making the other G4's have no choice but to create their own Playoff separate from the P6....#The World Is Ours Memphis.... "

Re: AAC and Big East fans on the AAC's television contract negotiations

the whole P6 fairy tale is the most psychologically needy declaration of gender confusion in the history of undecended testicles.  those boys must have gotten a whole lot of the wrong kind of their daddy's love when they were kids.  repeatedly.

the world is much closer to a P4/G6 arrangement than it is P6/G4.  it's just one more flavor of snake oil that they're buying from their savior/commissioner.

You know, I've argued the opposite in the past; there is some separation between the AAC and the rest of us. But those AAC people at CSNBBS are just wackjobs about it. Nobody outside of CSNBBS is pushing a P6 story. No MWC team wants to be in the AAC. Houston is not a P5 program LMAO.

If the AAC wants to be de facto or virtual P6, they're going to have to get that big TV contract and also start getting to the access bowl consistently, and those will not be easy things to accomplish.

Re: AAC and Big East fans on the AAC's television contract negotiations

it's horseshit.  as a matter of history, it's seriously, seriously delusional.

they don't graduate whole conferences to join the cartel.  they pick off a team or two.  this wet dream about their whole conference somehow being invited to the big table for christmas dinner is spectacularly stupid.

they find the bodies of people this naive in the woods with their panties crammed in their mouth.

Yeah, among the many stupid things Richard Giannini said, the stupidest might have been when he said that he wanted USM to stay in CUSA and for CUSA to become a power conference. I was a pretty young man at the time, but even I knew that was 100% horseshit.
