Just turned up the sound on the TV for this one. Female play-by-play announcer. Volume back down.

UCLA just got a turnover or something.

gotta admit, I did wake up in my vehicle (in the a.m.) at the holiday inn adjacent to jxn memorial after a usm/state game......not a freakin' clue how I got there or survived that evening....

Had an interesting motel experience last weekend in Hattiesburg. I waited to book a room, and barely got one of the last sub-$200 hotel rooms in the city. I paid $63.

For my money, I got a lodging experience like no other. Their big sign was burned out; if I hadn't passed it on my way into town, I wouldn't have found it. We got no soap or shampoo. They did have ice and a common microwave.

There was a compact pickup truck in the parking lot with chickens in a coop in the bed. I shit you not.

At about 03:00 AM after the game, some crazy drunk, locked-out Southern fan was running around grabbing every door handle and yelling for his buddy.

At 07:00 AM, we got to overhear a man flirt with a strange woman about her car. People say it looks like a Mercedes. She tries to take good care of it. Various permutations of things about those two things were recited.

Our entire time there, we could hear a TV in an adjacent room. It must have been turned up to 40/40.

I just got a survey from these people LOL. Rate my experience LOL.

A lot of that was probably SWAC-related. Hotel proprietors are notoriously stingy when it's Bayou Classic week in New Orleans, for example.

The noisy TV / late night drunk parts just strike me as a natural side effect of people having a good time LOL.

Wow. The amount of difficulty the general public apparently has when it comes to distinguishing bird heads is pretty amazing. You don't have to be a damned ornithologist to tell that that red bird head doesn't belong to a golden eagle. Morons.

The underlying problem here is that the players have too much power. That only leads to bad things: free agency, political activism, inflated salaries, etc.

I'd like to see a pro sports league structured such that players work for the league itself. That removes the legal basic for free agency. I don't think these guys should be making seven-figure salaries, either. Yeah, I know that's what the market will bear, but you don't have to be a dogmatic free market advocate 100% of the time.

Honestly, capitalism ruins sports in my opinion. I deal with capitalism all week long. Sports should be an escape.

Doctor: "It's sickle-cell anemia."

Unfunny

Likely the least racist POTUS in history.  Certainly less racist than his predecessor.

But I digress

I actually don't think Donald is particularly racist. He's certainly not the most racist President we've had, and I'm not just talking about the guys from 100+ years ago.

I just like that joke.

Day 2 of fall rush back in '87, the Sigma Nu's had just moved into their shiny new house just North of the Pike house (the one that looked like a 70s Taco Bell).  As the rushees approached the front door, the odiferous aroma of Columbian Cannabis Sativa permeated the air.  Even tho it was 90 degrees or so outside, one of the windows on the front of the house was open and it was my guess that's where the aroma emanated. The two rush guys escorting the rush group simply said, "oh fuck" and proceeded to enter the house.  This is no shit, I was there!

Which house looked like a 70s Taco Bell? The Pike house or the Sigma Nu house? I'm guessing you mean the Pike house LOL. The Sigma Nu house (when it was next door to the Pike house) was pretty nondescript.

100% understandable. I posted there for something like 7 years. When Herr Sands started banning people, I did not want to get banned, and I made an effort to be nice... to a point. There's a limit to everything, though.

I was under the impression that he was going to ban anyone that posted on here .... so once I created an account here I just went ahead and self-requested the ban. Looks like I was wrong as quite a few post on both. I am/was frustrated with the some of the moderation and the treatment of some users but I probably would have posted on both forums had I known what I know now. Still a lot of posters I like over there.

Any way that you can re-register there under a different alias? Or was it a full IP address ban?

It's locked down pretty tightly, man. It goes well beyond an IP range ban. That place sucks.

I mostly have that problem on Bing. There's something about Bing... you search "list of major dad episodes" and you get a bunch of people with their shirts off. One way to increase traffic I guess.
