I think I recall USM lost the home and away game when I was there. 77, 78 or 79 maybe? USM did win a bowl game.

He has not put out a mission statement, cried, gone camping or fired up a pressure washer. It’s a good first day.

I don’t think they have enough money for the Bower Center. The previous AD was more interested in leadership camping trips and writing mission statements to even try to gather funding for that project much less anything else. As stated he did get a good deal on some used pressure washers. His major contribution to the university. What a joke. It must be that time of year.

I suspect that this is all about Jeremy caving in to some people who really don't need to have that kind of influence. He knows exactly what Ladner's resume looks like and he hired him anyway.

I doubt what I am writing, but "hear" goes. Now that the influential people have "they're" coach, will they pony up to move the facilities and recruiting budgets to some sort of respectability? The "one of ours" coach will draw some additional fans but "oui" all "no" winning will be what returns the basketball program to the M.K. Turk days ... maybe. I am not knocking Coach Ladner. He is probably as good as anyone.

I remember Bill McClellan telling me years ago, "This is a tough place." I thought about Mr. Mac after the "simular" comments from Coach Sadler on twitter.

I guess Gonzaga has a say as well in all fairness. Start at 9 is 7AM body clock time for Gonzaga and you can play the “avoid an injury” card if you are the Zags skipper. The players safety card was played here in Frisco today for the final day of the classic with Ms St, Texas Tech, Nebraska and SHSt. Even though they played the first two games in a light drizzle with the temps around 40 degrees the first two days they thought 37 degrees and clear and sunny wasn’t acceptable and risked injury and cancelled the final day.

Makes sense.

Bill Mclellan and Roland Dale would have had this covered. Play at 9 AM. Our recent ADs do not know how to manage a sports program.

Of 80 emails, only one was between decision makers?

My gut is Hop makes it through the 2019 season and leaves on his own or USM sends him packing. Every "news" article is going to pin this on him. (Wanted to hire Briles who was associated with players charged with rape and recruiting a player that was charged with rape). This is all anyone needs to read to make a judgement on him.

Just like Collins, Briles and every other head coach that left or was forced to leave a program with controversy, Hop is gonna to receive full blame. He is the head coach and is responsible for his program no matter what happens, right or wrong.

Initial take away leads me to believe Hopson in fact staged this without consent from his superiors. Also, Bennett allows faculty and student groups have a loud voice for all things athletics. Which most, if any, actually attend games.

Not as I understand. Briles was flown from Italy to USM for his interview. Bennett, Hop, Mitchell and boosters in the interview. USM =  Bennett approved the interview and thus the flight.

There are things in this story that are missing. All the administrators had to do was say no in the beginning. It never goes to the press and all is done.

Each of us on this board has a story. Dunwoody is just trying to provide us the space to share them. I like Paul and his take on where we are and believe his humor is lost on so many looking for someone to blame. He just needs to stick to one handle going forward.

There’s a lot at stake nowadays USM.
We have shackled our past success by poor leadership decisions guided by fear and absent of drive. We are now pushing back that darkness we enabled with half of the supporters we once had.

Last week was a mistake by our administration but it also put a spotlight on Hopson and what he is willing to do to get us where we belong. His coaches love him. His players love him. All we can do is cancel out the noise that is the media trying to break USM down and give Hop what he needs going forward this year. We all share that in common even if we don’t share our cable credentials.

Paul said he looks at this site but does not post. I am not sure what handle he registered under.

I'm confused about it myself. I went back and looked at my posts since the Briles story broke. I only mentioned that SB Nation thing twice, and both times there was a big fat "IF" in front of it.

We've had a guy rage-quit because I wouldn't help him steal cable. We've had another rage-quit because people here are too right wing for him. What can I do about these things?

What's really depressing is that this weekend, I actually threw an assist to someone who, so far as I can tell, is Fighting Eagle's associate somehow. I didn't do that because I agree with everything he puts online, or even most of it. The mere fact that he's talking about USM was enough for me.

As for this notion that I'm "negative" about USM, I'm not. I feel that one part of USM (sports) has been wrong-footed a lot lately. I am one of the most optimistic people here about USM as an institution.

It is odd but ... ok.

Your message board would have done better if you had taken the path of other message board owners. They rarely post and let the board come into its own. You constantly post innuendo and hyperbole. Mostly negative toward uUsm. Sensationalized lies at times. This is a real reason this board has very few posters and the other boards are gaining new members daily. I rarely post here because of the reasons I stated. You stated you live in Atlanta so you are out of touch and I doubt you evenpersonally know any of the administration or have any contacts. I won't be posting here again.

I live outside of Atlanta. I rather enjoyed reading your posts.

I doubt it is me. Anything I have posted on this particular subject came from a former coach. I typically don't post anything I hear from him but in this case I did. I wasn't the only one but that was on another forum. I didn't glean anything out of the paper.  It doesn't matter as it appears things are blown over and everyone is happy. Life and USM move on to the next hurdle. I plan to go back to posting as little as possible.
